Aprilia recently showcased the updated 2021 Tuono 125. At first glance, you notice the Tuono’s new angry-looking front fascia. The Tuono 660-inspired headlamp is all-LED but misses out on the signature DRLs.

Apart from the front end, the bike has remained more or less the same in design, retaining the flowing single-piece seat and tail light along with the integrated grab handles.

Aprilia is offering the bike in three shades: Arrow Grey, Lightning White, and Aprilia Black.

To keep up with the present-day trends, Aprilia has updated the Tuono’s instrument cluster. It now boasts a fully digital LCD display that shows all necessary information. Also part of the package is a new dual-channel ABS system developed in partnership with Bosch.

Powering the Tuono 125 is the same 124cc single-cylinder motor, only Euro-5 compliant now. Surprisingly, it makes 15PS and 11.2Nm more, thanks to a new Magneti Marelli ECU. The 6-speed gearbox can now accommodate a quickshifter (offered as an accessory).

The motor is housed in an aluminium frame sprung on a 40mm USD fork and a monoshock. We also like the neat and slim swingarm.

Braking duties are handled by a 300mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc coupled with metal-braided lines.

The Tuono 125 gets a massive 14.5-litre fuel tank, has an accessible seat height of 810mm, and tips the scales at just under 150kg (kerb). All this is better than its arch-rival, the KTM 125 Duke which has a smaller fuel tank, taller seat height, and more weight.

In conclusion, the 2021 Tuono is surely its best avatar yet, thanks to the improved power figures, looks, and features. While chances of the bike making it to India are bleak, Aprilia officials did mention other interesting plans for the Indian market, which you can read all about in our story.
