Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the A-Class Limousine in India at Auto Expo 2020. It will be launched in June, but bookings are open now. It will slot under the CLA four-door coupe and it will have an AMG A 35 variant. Prices are expected to start at around 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior highlights of the A-Class sedan include a front fascia featuring curved surfaces, soft lines, a minimalist grille and air inlets. The headlamps are wraparound units and in profile, the sedan features a more upright roofline. Despite the sloping coupe roof eating into cabin space, it is a proper five-seater.

The main talking point inside the A-Class is the dual-screen layout. It consists of a driver’s instrument display in one half and an infotainment system in the other. Below the screen are turbine-shaped air vents. Expect some gadgetry borrowed from the GLA SUV and CLA coupe.

Under the hood, it is powered by 2.0-litre BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines. It also gets the latest MBUX infotainment system with voice command. Safety features include lane keep assist and seven airbags.
Post Auto Expo 2020, expect the A-Class sedan to reach Indian showrooms later in the year. It is likely to be priced at a premium over the discontinued A-Class hatchback, starting from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Once launched, the A-Class sedan will lock horns with the Audi A3 sedan.
