The facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLC made its global debut at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Yes, that happened eight months ago. Minor cosmetic revisions, improved tech and new engine options are the main changes in the facelifted GLC. Mercedes-Benz has now announced that the updated GLC will be launched in India on December 3, 2019. It is expected to come with BS6-compliant powertrains and a price tag starting from around Rs 60 lakh. Meanwhile, the German carmaker is also readying the 2020 GLE for a January launch.

The obvious changes up front are the new headlamps and grille along with redesigned bumpers and air intakes. These changes are so minimal that you wouldn't figure them out until you really start looking. It also gets LED “High-Performance” headlamps as standard coupled with new DRLs. The rear bumper has been tweaked with chrome trims for the exhaust vents. There are also new alloy wheel options ranging from 17-inch to 19-inch. The basic layout and design of the cabin remains identical although it now features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with the latest MBUX infotainment system. The SUV also gains a fully digital instrument cluster apart from various other minor tweaks.

Markets abroad get the GLC 200 4Matic with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops 194PS while the GLC 300 4Matic comes in a higher 255PS state of tune. The GLC 200d 4Matic diesel is good enough for 161PS whereas the GLC 220d puts out a strong 192PS. There is also an even more powerful version, the GLC 300d 4Matic, which makes 241PS. In India, we expect Mercedes-Benz to offer the 2.0-litre diesel and a petrol option, both BS6-compliant. The other inclusion to the facelifted version are adjustable dampers which can be controlled through various ride modes.
