The Honda Elevate is going to be the Japanese marque’s biggest launch for a while now. It’s a brand new Honda that has been built from the ground up and will be launched in India first before it heads to other markets. With the stage set for its global debut on June 06, the Elevate has a lot riding on its shoulders to establish Honda in the SUV space. And if you had your eyes on one, here are 5 things we know about the upcoming SUV:

Based on spy shots and teasers, the Honda Elevate’s front features a large grille flanked by LED headlights. Its raked A-pillar and upright stance gives it a nice SUV-like vibe as do the large wheel arches. At the rear, an earlier teaser hinted at the presence of connected tail lamps, and it could get skid plates to give it a macho vibe.

The Elevate’s cabin is yet to be snapped. But we suspect certain bits on the dash to be finished in soft-touch plastic for a premium feel. Also, certain bits such as the semi-digital instrument cluster, climate control panel and steering wheel could be shared with the City.
In a segment where features matter a lot, the Elevate should be brimming with kit. A teaser has already confirmed the presence of a single-pane sunroof. Apart from that, it should get ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, Honda’s lane watch camera on the left ORVM and keyless entry with push-button start.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control with hill start assist, rear parking sensors and the City’s ADAS safety suite.

Yes, you read that right. Instead, the Elevate is expected to get the City’s 121PS 1.5-litre petrol and 126PS 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain options. A 6-speed manual should be offered with the petrol engine, while a CVT will be common between both. That said, the hybrid powertrain might not be offered from day one and could join the lineup later.
The Honda Elevate will make a global debut on June 6, post which it will go on sale in the Indian market. We expect the prices to start around Rs 11 lakh, putting it in contention with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross.
