BYD has updated its first-launched electric SUV for the Indian-market, the BYD Atto 3, and introduced it with MY 2025 year updates. This mid-life update brings a feature addition, a subtle interior tweak, and one small battery upgrade. But does it have what it takes to charge ahead of the competition? Let’s find out.
The 2025 BYD Atto 3 retains its funky-looking futuristic and aerodynamic styling.
The SUV continues with its sleek profile, signature LED lights, and aggressive stance. No major exterior revisions have been made.
Step inside, and you’re greeted with an all black interior, replacing the dual-tone theme which was offered earlier.
This update aligns the Atto 3 with premium EV placement, giving it a more sophisticated cabin look and feel.
The BYD Atto 3 was already loaded with a lot of features, and for 2025, BYD has introduced one very important feature which was missing, i.e. ventilated seats. Ventilated seats for both the driver and front passenger have been added, which gives the occupants an extra layer of comfort during long drives, especially in a tropical country like India, where the summer heats are extreme.
While no major infotainment changes have been introduced, the SUV continues to offer its signature rotating touchscreen, a premium audio system, and smart connectivity features.
BYD Atto 3 continues to be safe for the users and the occupants, it carries forward its five-star Euro NCAP rating. The MY2025 model continues to be offered with 6 airbags, ABS, and EBD along with its comprehensive ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and auto emergency braking.
One small update here is the introduction of a new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery instead of the regular lead-acid battery, offering improved reliability, a 15-year lifespan, and significantly better self-discharge management.
Under the hood, the Atto 3 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by BYD’s Blade Battery in two configurations:
49.92 kWh with 468 km (ARAI) of range.
60.48 kWh with 521 km (ARAI) of range.
The single electric motor setup provides brisk acceleration, making it a zippy urban runner while retaining highway cruising capabilities.
There are 3 variants of the BYD Atto 3 on offer: Dynamic, Premium and Superior.
Currently, BYD India has not disclosed the prices for the 2025 Atto 3 and the first 3,000 customers will get the 2025 Atto 3 at 2024 ex-showroom prices as part of the brand’s anniversary celebration. 2024 prices are given in the table below:
