At launch, the Volkswagen Taigun’s features spread was slightly weird. In a bid to make the 1.5-litre TSI GT Plus variant a bit more affordable, VW limited the ventilated and leatherette seat option to the 1-litre TSI Topline trim. With rising competition in the segment, VW has rectified that and is offering the ventilated seats as an option in the GT Plus trim.
Variant Lineup |
Ex-showroom Price |
GT Plus |
Rs 18.71 lakh |
GT Plus With Ventilated Seats |
Rs 18.96 lakh |
Premium |
Rs 25,000 |
You would have to shell out Rs 25,000 more for the Taigun GT Plus with ventilated seats. However, if you don’t really need that feature, you can save some cash as VW is offering the GT Plus without the ventilated and leatherette seats. That said, considering India’s scorching summers, it definitely makes sense to pay the premium and get the one with the cooled seats.
Rest of the features and mechanicals are exactly the same as before and you can read about it in our detailed first drive review.
The Volkswagen Taigun is currently priced between Rs 11.56 lakh and Rs 18.96 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq and the like.
