This week was quite exciting, filled with launches and interesting news. We now know that Royal Enfield bikes are going to get a new rival and an iconic scooter could be coming back soon, in an electric avatar. In this article we will be giving you a brief overview of everything we saw.
Norton is coming to India soon, and could be launching their bikes by the beginning of 2026. The retro-British bikemaker will be bringing two platforms, a 400 to 450cc one and a 650cc one. The 400 to 450cc platform will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the other 350cc offerings. The 650cc platform will go up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the others in the 650cc lineup. That said, Norton is a premium brand and their bikes could be priced a bit towards the more expensive side.
Triumph has launched the latest version of the Scrambler 400, called the Scrambler 400 XC. The bike has undergone some changes in terms of design and underpinnings which makes it a more capable offroader.
The bike now gets some aesthetic changes that make it look and feel a lot more aggressive. But the biggest change is the addition of the cross spoked wheels with tubeless tyres, which makes it a lot easier to deal with punctures. But compared to the Scrambler 400 X, this variant comes at a massive premium.
Triumph has launched a new edition of the Speed Triple 1200 called the Speed Triple 1200 RX. This variant of the bike has seen some interesting changes, including the addition of a new colour scheme with a fluorescent green finish. Along with this, Triumph has also made the bike a lot more capable on track, with clip-on handlebars and more rear set footpegs. What makes this bike really special is that it is limited to a very few units globally.
In a recent earnings call, Hero had revealed that they are working on bringing a new and more affordable Hero Vida electric scooter. Along with this, the brand has also revealed that they could be bringing a more affordable Harley-Davidson model based on the X440 platform as well. We think the bike could be called the Nightster and it could be a proper cruiser. There is also a possibility that this new bike could even be a new scrambler model.
Kinetic Green is planning on bringing back the Kinetic DX scooter, but this time in an electric avatar. Kinetic Green has already brought back the iconic Luna in an electric avatar, called the E-Luna. The upcoming e-scooter could bring some competition to the Bajaj Chetak and other similar family-oriented electric scooters. We had seen the scooter being tested in the past, and have a good idea of what to expect.
