This Is Audi’s Most Extreme Supercar Yet And It Has Over 1,000 PS Of Power To Offer

A 1,001 PS hybrid powertrain, a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.6 seconds, and a top speed of more than 350 kmph: those are the headline numbers of the newly-revealed Audi Nuvolari. Positioned as the German marque’s most ambitious road-going machine till date, the limited-production supercar combines a twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors to deliver record-breaking performance. Limited to just 499 units globally, deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.

Where Does It Get Its Name From?

It is named after Tazio Nuvolari, one of the most prominent figures in motorsport history. Born in Italy, he was known for his fearlessness, ingenuity, dedication, and a single-minded will to succeed.

How Does The Audi Nuvolari Look?

The Audi Nuvolari is the first production model to showcase the brand’s new design language. Built around a mid-engine layout, it gets a low-slung stance, muscular proportions and a wide, planted appearance. Up front, the supercar features a low-set Singleframe grille, sleek lighting elements and an F1-inspired S-duct that helps optimise air flow and cooling.

In profile, the Nuvolari’s sculpted bodywork, prominent rear haunches and cab-forward design highlight its performance-centric character. Audi has extensively used carbon-fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) for the body panels, helping reduce weight while enhancing rigidity. The supercar also becomes the first production Audi to feature forged centre-lock wheels, adding to its motorsport-inspired appeal.

At the rear, the design is dominated by aerodynamic elements, including an active rear wing that automatically adjusts according to driving conditions. Combined with the broad rear stance and extensive use of exposed carbon fibre, the Nuvolari blends visual drama with functional aerodynamics, befitting Audi’s fastest and most powerful road car yet.

A Driver-focused Cabin

The Audi Nuvolari adapts a driver-focused cabin layout with a minimalist design philosophy. Audi says all essential controls have been positioned within the driver’s direct field of vision, while secondary information remains in the background to reduce distractions.

The cabin is divided into two visual zones. The front section gets a dark theme intended to aid driver concentration, while the rear section uses a lighter “Shadow Dune” finish. Premium materials such as anodised aluminium have been used for the air-con vents, controls and display surrounds.

Lightweight carbon-fibre seats form part of the package, offering enhanced rigidity and lateral support while reducing weight. The digital interface and physical controls follow a unified operating logic, with colour accents inspired by the legendary Auto Union Type C race car.

Safety And Driver-focused Technology

The Nuvolari packs several advanced technologies aimed at enhancing vehicle control and driver confidence.

A key highlight is the new ‘quattro predictive ride’ system, which continuously analyses steering inputs, acceleration, yaw rate and available grip levels. The system proactively manages torque distribution, braking intervention and aerodynamic settings to maximise traction and stability.

Drivers can choose from E-Hybrid, Balanced, Dynamic and Dynamic+ modes while a dedicated Track Mode allows further adjustment of traction control settings for different surface conditions. Active aerodynamics, torque vectoring and an advanced brake-by-wire setup also contribute to greater control during spirited driving.

What’s Under The Hood?

Powering the Audi Nuvolari is a sophisticated hybrid setup that produces a combined output of 1,001 PS. At its heart is a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 811 PS and 730 Nm.

The combustion engine is supported by three axial-flux electric motors, each producing 150 PS. Two motors are mounted on the front axle, while the third sits between the V8 engine and transmission. Energy is supplied by a 7.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Performance figures are nothing short of extraordinary. Audi claims a 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 2.6 seconds and a 0-200 kmph in 6.8 seconds. Flat out, the Nuvolari can exceed 350 kmph, making it the fastest production Audi ever built.

Will It Come To India?

Audi has not announced any plans to launch the Nuvolari in India as yet. However, given the exclusivity of the supercar and its limited production run of just 499 units, a few examples could reach our shores via the completely built unit (CBU) route.
