The SYM MMBCU doesn’t pack supercharger but has just about all the features you’d need

Taiwanese two-wheeler marque SYM has pulled the wraps off its newest scooter called the MMBCU. This new scooter will sit in the brand’s sporty urban lineup, which already has the outlandish DRGBT 160cc scooter.

The SYM MMBCU’s mid-mounted LED headlight flanked by air vents and the twin boomerang-shaped tail lights, and even the colour schemes, are quite similar to the Kawasaki Ninja H2. This theme continues on the side panels too, with SYM giving the scooter a sleek side profile. Then there are some unique elements like the floating indicators and license plate holder.

SYM is yet to reveal any details of the MMBCU’s engine; however, it could be shared with the DRGBT’s 158cc mill producing 15PS and 14.6Nm. While SYM would reveal more information closer to the launch, details of the MMBCU’s underpinnings have been revealed.

The SYM MMBCU features telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup and uses disc brakes at both ends. This scooter runs on 13-inch rims wrapped in beefy tyres. These components are visually similar to the DRGBT and, in fact, could be borrowed from it to keep production costs low.

In terms of features, the SYM MMBCU gets a LCD instrument console, USB charger at the front, dual-channel ABS and even traction control. SYM has not revealed the exact underseat storage space; however, the display unit had a full-face Shoei helmet inside it.

Needless to say, the SYM MMBCU is not headed to India, but if you are on the lookout for a sporty scooter, the Yamaha Aerox 155 should satiate your requirement.
