Skoda India is gearing up to launch the Rapid Matte Edition to cash in on the festive season sales. We have now got some details on this variant ahead of its arrival.
The Rapid Matte Edition will be the first in its segment to rock a matte grey colour. Adding contrast to the design are the gloss black-finished alloy wheels, diffuser, side skirts, and ORVMs. Also, all the chrome elements have now been blacked out.

The cabin is all-black with Alcantara upholstery for the seats. The flat-bottom steering wheel will be carried over from the top-spec Monte Carlo trim. Apart from that, the design, features, and dashboard layout should be similar to the standard model. To know what we thought of the Rapid TSI, read our in-depth first-drive review.
No changes will be made to the mechanicals. The Rapid will continue with the 110PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.

This could be one of the last updates for the Skoda Rapid before its successor arrives by the end of this year. The Matte Edition will likely be based on the Style trim and command a premium of Rs 30,000.
Currently, the sedan is priced between Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in the same league as the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
