Jaguar Land Rover cuts prices of its flagship SV models in India
Range Rover SV is now cheaper by Rs 75 lakh
Range Rover Sport SV gets a Rs 40 lakh price reduction
Price revision driven by anticipated India–UK FTA benefits on CBU imports
Locally assembled models remain unaffected by the price change
Defender and Discovery prices unchanged as they’re built outside the UK
Jaguar Land Rover India has announced a major price revision for its flagship SV models in India, driven by the anticipated implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The brand has reduced prices of its fully imported (CBU) models, making its ultra-luxury offerings more accessible to buyers in India. The revised pricing is effective immediately.
If you’ve been eyeing the top-end Range Rover experience, this development could make a serious difference to your buying decision:
The biggest highlight is the sharp reduction in prices for the SV range:
|
Model |
Old Price |
New Price |
Difference |
|
Range Rover SV |
Rs 4.25 crore |
Rs 3.50 crore |
Rs 75 lakh |
|
Range Rover Sport SV |
Rs 2.75 crore |
Rs 2.35 crore |
Rs 40 lakh |
That’s a price drop of up to Rs 75 lakh on the Range Rover SV and Rs 40 lakh on the Range Rover Sport SV, significantly improving their value proposition in India.

The price correction comes in anticipation of reduced import duties under the India-UK FTA (Free Trade Agreement).
Since both SV models are imported from the UK as completely built units (CBUs), they directly benefit from the revised duty structure. This allows JLR to pass on cost advantages to customers even before the agreement is formally implemented.
Alongside the price drop, the Range Rover SV now gets added exclusivity:
SV Ultra Metallic paint options are now offered as standard
Available in both gloss and satin finishes
Further enhances the bespoke appeal of the flagship SUV
These additions strengthen the positioning of the SV as the most luxurious expression of the Range Rover lineup.

Not all models in the JLR portfolio are affected by this revision:
Locally assembled models like the...
Range Rover
Range Rover Sport
Range Rover Evoque
Range Rover Velar
Discovery Sport
...will see no price change. Meanwhile, the...
Defender
Discovery
...also remain unaffected as they are manufactured in Slovakia, which is not covered under the India-UK FTA.
This is one of the first visible impacts of the India-UK FTA on the Indian luxury car market and it could have a broader ripple effect across th segment.
Since the duty benefits apply to UK-built CBUs, more models from the JLS lineup, especially higher-end variants that are not locally assembled, could see similar price corrections going forwards. This may also prompt other UK-based luxury car brands to reassess pricing strategies once the FTA is completely implemented.

From a market perspective, the price drop significantly improves the accessibility of flagship models, which were previously positioned deep into a niche bracket. This also strengthens JLR’s competitiveness against rivals like the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX and others, which will potentially drive higher volumes in a segment where pricing plays a crucial role despite the exclusivity factor.
We could see significant price drops from brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Mini and even Rolls-Royce. Which brand would you like to see at a lower price point in India? Comment down below!
