Draped In Black: 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SV Black Revealed Globally, Key Highlights You Need To Know

Shortly after revealing the Range Rover Sport SV Black and Defender OCTA Black, Land Rover has taken the wraps off the new Range Rover SV Black globally. This special edition leans more onto a darker styling with bolder aesthetic, while introducing new sensory tech inside the cabin. India launch details are yet to be confirmed, but here’s a closer look at what makes it stand out.

Design

The Range Rover SV Black carries SUV's minimalist styling but elevates its commanding design language, finished in Narvik Gloss Black shade. Up front, it features a gloss-finished grille, matching bonnet lettering, and darkened elements that neatly brings all the front details together.

Along the sides, 23-inch alloy wheels wrapped in a gloss black shade further emphasise its wide stance. These are complemented by dark brake calipers. At the rear, a black ceramic SV roundel marks out this special edition while carrying forward the overall design of the Range Rover.

Interior

Step inside and you’ll find a cabin that embraces the overall character of Black Edition. The new Ebony Near-Aniline leather upholstery appears polished and features unique perforations and stitching patterns. Land Rover mentions single-panel seat covers are used for the first time, while minimising seams and lines for a cleaner look.

The interior also boasts black birch trim pieces with a smooth satin finish that adds a subtle contrast. While smaller details, like the satin black ceramic gear shifter and Moonlight Chrome accents, continue the dark, premium look throughout.

Features

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Range Rover SV Black is its sensory-focused technology. The flagship model debuts what Land Rover calls the "Sensory Floor," which complements its Body and Soul Seat tech. Essentially, both the seats and floor can produce subtle vibrations in sync with the audio system or one of six wellness programs. The system aims to reduce stress and create a more personalized, almost spa-like atmosphere on the move.

Apart from this, the Range Rover SV Black continues to come equipped with features such as a 13.1-inch infotainment system, a 13.7-inch digital driver’s display, four-zone climate control, a multi-speaker Meridian sound system, connected car tech, and a wireless phone charger.

Powertrain 

Under the hood, the Range Rover SV Black retains the V8 petrol engine that produces 615 PS, mated to 8-speed automatic transmission. It also features adaptive air suspension setup, paired with all-wheel steering for a smooth driving experience.

India Launch?

Currently, the Range Rover SV Black will be available to order globally from late 2025, and it will be offered in both standard and long-wheelbase configurations. As of now, there’s no word on an India launch timeline.
