Jeep Compass Gets Massive Rs 1.7 Lakh Price Cut, But There’s A Catch

• Jeep Compass base variant now more affordable by Rs 1.70 lakh.
• All the variants above the “Sport” trim now command Rs 14,000 premium more.
• Few variants have been removed from the official website.
• Prices now range from Rs 18.99 lakh to Rs 32.41 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jeep India has updated the prices for its compact SUV, the Compass, which now gets a massive price drop for the entry level variant. The entry level Sport trim of the Jeep Compass, is now being offered at a starting price of Rs 18.99 lakh, as against the previous pricing of Rs 20.69 lakh (ex-showroom). However, prices for other trims see a slight price increment.

It is pretty evident from the table above that the entry level Sport trim has now gotten way affordable by a substantial Rs 1.70 lakh price drop. However, all the above variants now command a price increment of Rs 14,000. Moreover, few variants such as Longitude (O) and Limited (O) 4X4 from the line-up have been removed from the official website until further notice from the manufacturer.

The Jeep Compass comes loaded with features like a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless  Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, keyless entry, push button start/stop, a premium Alpine sound system and auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers. On the safety front, its gets 6-airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. 

The Jeep Compass is available with a single engine option: a 2-litre Multijet diesel unit producing 170 PS and 350 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is offered as standard, while, notably, the all-wheel drive configuration is limited to the 9-speed automatic transmission options. 

Priced from Rs 18.99 lakh to Rs 32.41 lakh (ex-showroom), it rivals other premium compact SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson, VW Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross.
