Ferrari Testarossa

Ferrari has officially debuted the 849 Testarossa in India. The new flagship series-production Ferrari will be launched in India in March 2026, replacing the SF90 Stradale at the top of the brand’s lineup.

In the Indian market, the 849 Testarossa will primarily rival the Lamborghini Revuelto, setting up a high-stakes clash between two electrified Italian supercars.

Powertrain And Performance: 1,050 PS Hybrid Muscle

Much like the SF90, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain built around a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. The engine is paired with three electric motors: two on the front axle and one between the engine and the gearbox at the rear.

Thanks to upgraded internals, the V8 alone produces 830 PS, while the combined system output stands at a massive 1,050 PS. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Ferrari claims a 0–100 kmph time of under 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 330 kmph. The 7.45 kWh battery also allows for limited electric-only driving, with a claimed EV range of 16–25 km.

Exterior Design: Retro Cues But Still Modern

In keeping with its iconic name, the 849 Testarossa features a bold, distinctive design that might be polarising. The front end features L-shaped LED headlamps connected by a gloss black strip across the bonnet, a clear nod to classic Ferraris. The layered bumper incorporates a wide air dam and an integrated lip spoiler.

From the side, large alloy wheels, a blacked-out roof and A-pillars, and prominent air intakes on the rear buttresses give the car a low-slung, dramatic stance.

At the rear, the design is defined by the signature twin-tail layout, slim LED tail-lamps, a high-mounted dual-exhaust setup and a large diffuser.

Interior Layout: Driver First,  As Always

Inside, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa is driver-focused. The cabin features a split layout with a high centre console and a ‘bridge’ separating the two sports seats. Notably, there’s no central infotainment touchscreen on the dashboard.

Instead, all critical information is displayed on a massive 16-inch digital driver’s display, while the passenger gets a slim 9-inch screen. The flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel is packed with physical controls, reinforcing Ferrari’s focus on engagement - read more about it in our Ferrari Luce interior story.

Equipment highlights include a 7-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with extensive personalisation options.

India Price And Rivals

While Ferrari has not declared the prices for the 849 Testarossa in India, expect them to be announced soon.

When it goes on sale, it will take on the Lamborghini Revuelto as its closest rival in the Indian market while replacing the SF90 Stradale in the Ferrari portfolio.

ZigSays…

The 849 Testarossa builds on the SF90’s formula but turns everything up a notch with additional power, more character and more performance. With 1,050 PS on tap and classic Ferrari styling, it sets a new benchmark for the brand’s series-production supercars.

At this price point, it’s firmly in dream-car territory, but for Ferrari’s most demanding customers, the 849 Testarossa represents the pinnacle of the brand’s electrified future.
