Chinese Bikemaker Zontes To Set Foot In India

Zontes is definitely not a household name in most parts of the world. But this Chinese bikemaker has been slowly and steadily making quite a few interesting two-wheelers. And now, it will arrive on our shores with five products. These bikes will be brought down by its Indian arm, Adishwar Auto Ride India, who also have Moto Morini in the pipeline and currently sell Benelli and Keeway products.

If the company’s teasers are anything to go by, it seems that Zontes will bring in the GK 350 to begin with. This neo-retro naked gives off Honda CB300R and Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 vibes. It does seem to be kitted out quite properly: sidewall-laced wire-spoke wheels to fit tubeless tyres, USD fork, radial brake caliper, and LED lighting. Even the motor has decent specs. The 348cc liquid-cooled thumper puts out 39.42PS and 32.8Nm, plonking bang in between the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R.

We expect Zontes to also tap into the adventure space. We had seen its 310s on test a few months back in India, quite near Hyderabad itself. Watch this space for more details.
