BluArmor C20 Helmet communicator launched at Rs 6,999 in India

Quick Read:

  • BluArmor launched the C 20 helmet communicator at an introductory price of Rs 6,999

  • The C20 will retail for 9,999, and is the most affordable mesh-based helmet communicator system from the company

Helmet communicators usually come in two varieties - cheap, mostly Chinese-made units which are essentially just a Bluetooth headset for your phone designed to fit inside your helmet, and expensive ones from international brands like Sena, Cardo and Midland, which offer mesh connectivity to communicate between a large number of riders at once. But then you have upstart brands like Bengaluru-based BluArmor, which have created some world-class mesh based helmet communicators systems which are priced really affordable too, like the C50 series that was introduced last year.

BluArmor C20

Priced at Rs 9,999, the BluArmor C20 is the company’s most affordable mesh-based helmet comms system, and will be available from right now at an introductory price of Rs 6,999 till 22 June, 2025. The C20 is based on the more premium C50 platform and shares most of its hardware and design too. But with the C20, BluArmor took the approach of focusing on only the most essential features that most riders need from a helmet communicator.

Even at its super affordable price, the C20 still retains key features from the C50, such as its behind-the-helmet mounting system, it’s 3-button remote, IP67 rating, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. And owners of the C20 can also upgrade their unit to make it more in line with BluArmor’s top-of-the-line C50 Pro, by purchasing magnetic dock which features the company’s ‘Ride Aura’ lighting system, or even the wireless T-stick controller. It also carries over features like the 2-level noise cancellation, which gives your voice crystal clear audio quality even when you’re riding at fairly high speeds, as well as crash detection, which can automatically call or send a message to any of your predetermined contacts in case of a crash.

BluArmor C20

What’s most surprising though is that C20 still gets self-healing mesh connectivity, so multiple riders can be connected at the same time, and even if some riders were to fall out of range, the network can automatically integrate them back as soon as they’re in range again. But for the C20, this has been pared back into something called ‘Ride Grid Lite’, which unlike ‘Ride Grid 2.0’ from the C50, doesn’t let you create a network with an unlimited number of riders. And if that wasn’t enough, the C20 also supports eRide Grid, which creates a network between multiple C20s using your phone’s mobile data, effectively giving you unlimited range.

Talking about range, BluArmor tells us that the C20 has a maximum range of 1.1km over a straight, empty highway with clear line of sight between two units. This, they said, will realistically be around 600-700 metres in real world highway conditions, and about 300-400 metres in an urban environment. The C20 is also completely interoperable with the C50 and C30, which means that your riding group can have a mixture of various BluArmor comm sets, and the mesh network will still work seamlessly. BluArmor also told us that technically you can also be used as a universal intercom system and also connect with intercom systems from other brands like Cardo and Sena, although it’s not been particularly designed for that, and how well it works may vary on a case-to-case basis.

BluArmor C20 vs Rivals

The C20 can also connect to two devices at once, whether it’s two different phones, GPS navigators, bike consoles, etc. It can also play music from your phone into your helmet even when you’re chatting with your riding buddies over the intercom.

Even at its full MRP of Rs 9,999, there is no doubt that the BluArmor C20 offers incredible value for money for anyone looking for more than just a Bluetooth headset for their helmet. And when you compare it to its competition, the Sena B20 is priced at Rs 15,000 in India, and doesn’t even offer half the features or upgradabilty. And the similarly priced Cardo Spirit (Rs 11,000 in India) gets much smaller speakers and doesn’t even have mesh connectivity. And if you buy you BluArmor C20 before 22nd June, 2025, the introductory price of Rs 6,999 is simply unbeatable.
