Nissan India has launched the 2024 X-Trail on our shores from Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The moniker makes a comeback to India after almost a decade and the fourth-gen model is sold here as a fully imported model. With the introduction of this model, Nissan India’s lineup on our shores has expanded to two models after the Magnite.
Up front, the X-Trail gets Nissan’s familiar V-shaped grille, flanked by a pair of funky split LED headlights. A rather minimalist bumper gives the front a clean look. In profile, the X-Trail has an upright silhouette with rather clean and soft lines. It also sits on 20-inch alloys that give it a nice stance. Rounding off the overall design are the split-LED tail lamps.
The Nissan X-Trail is sold in India in three colour options: Diamond Black, Champagne Silver and Pearl White. To take a closer look at the Nissan X-Trail, check out our image gallery.
Inside, the Nissan X-Trail gets a rather clean dashboard that’s well built with generous use of soft touch plastics. There are chunky buttons for controlling functions such as the infotainment and touchscreen infotainment system. The driver gets to grip on a chunky three-spoke steering wheel and behind it is a digital driver’s display.
The X-Trail offered for the Indian market comes in a 7-seater configuration. That said, the last row is best reserved for children or pets for short journeys.
In this department, the Nissan X-Trail gets the basics done right. Highlights include a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push button start and cruise control.

Safety is taken care of by seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control and electronic parking brake.
While the X-Trail should satisfy most users, there are plenty of feature misses at this price point such as leatherette upholstery with seat ventilation, powered front seats, a branded sound system and ADAS.
Powering the 2024 Nissan X-Trail in India is a sole 163 PS 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 12v mild-hybrid tech. Drive is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT. To know how the Nissan X-Trail drives, head to our first drive review to know our impressions.
The Nissan X-Trail locks horns with other 7-seater SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
