The AMT option is limited to the VXi and VXi+trims at a premium of Rs 50,000. In terms of the manual variants, the Alto K10 is at an average premium of around Rs 80,000 over the regular Alto 800.

The K10 is powered by the DualJet, Dual VVT 1-litre petrol engine tuned to an output of 66.6PS and 89Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual with the choice of a 5-speed AMT as well. The manual option claims to deliver fuel economy of 24.39kpml, but the AMT is said to be even more frugal with a claimed efficiency of 24.9kmpl.

The all-new Alto K10 has distinctive front-end styling, while the side profile and the rear look a lot like the Celerio. It only gets steel wheels with styled covers. Maruti is offering the K10 in six exterior colours and two official accessory themes - Impacto and Glinto.

In terms of features, the Alto K10 remains to be a sparsely equipped offering. The base trim has no AC or power steering or internally adjustable ORVMs. In the top-spec VXi+ variant, the new Alto K10 comes with the 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dashboard is different from the regular Alto 800 and gets a distinctive digitised instrument cluster.

The hatchback’s standard safety kit includes dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD. It also comes with central locking with speed-sensing auto door locking from the VXi trim.
