The upcoming electric SUV, slated for market introduction in 2025, has been snapped testing, giving us a sneak peek at its interior

  • Upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 electric SUV interior snapped.
  • Features a triple-integrated screen setup and two-spoke steering wheel.
  • Rest of the dashboard design is similar to the XUV700.
  • Slated for a market launch in 2025.

Images of the Mahindra XUV.e9 electric SUV’s interior have surfaced online for the first time. For the unknown, the XUV.e9 is basically the Mahindra’s electric SUV-coupe version of the popular XUV700. It’s slated for a market introduction in 2025 and here’s what we can discern from these spy shots.

The dominating factor in the XUV.e9’s insides is the presence of three digital screens that span the entire width of the dashboard. You can also notice that it gets a two-spoke steering wheel as opposed to the three-spoke one found in recent day Mahindra cars. Also, its gear lever has been lifted off from the Mahindra XUV400. Rest of the dashboard design is more or less similar to the XUV700 on which it’s based.

In terms of features, you can expect all the niceties to be present, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, multi-colour ambient lighting, Sony 3D audio system and a wireless phone charger. Safety features onboard should include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.

Detailed technical specifications of the XUV.e9 aren’t out. But it will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform with both single and dual-motor options with up to 395PS on tap. As for battery packs, this platform can support both 60kWh and 80kWh units with up to 450km of WLTP-claimed range.

Recently, the XUV.e9 has been snapped in South Korea and you can take a closer look at it here. We suspect the model to be priced from around Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Atto 3 as well as the upcoming Tata Safari EV.
