Q. How is Swift Diesel?

Swift diesel is a pleasure to drive.1) Turbo kicks in at 1500 to 1800 RPM. You feel a sudden surge of power. It is like an elephant pushing the car from behind.2) gives good mileage 20 to 26 km with AC on high ways, & around 16 km in city traffic per litre of diesel.3) In Diesel cars, more passengers or heavy load & running AC does not increase fuel consumption,, while in petrol cars, it proportionately increases fuel consumption4)Maintenance costs are higher, compared to petrol sibling, but for those doing more than 50 km per day, diesel works cheaper5) once you get addicted to diesel swift, you become a diesel fan for life6) Typically maintenance costs are reasonable for 7 years, after which service costs double or triple due to replacement of parts, like alternators, batteries, Turbo, intercooler, shock absorbers etc, but it also depends on your driving.& quality of diesel used.7) Even after 10 years, maintenance costs of swift diesel are most affordable, compared to competitors like Volkswagen, Skoda, Hyundai etc.8) I have a 2007 swift diesel, which has completed 4 lakh km, & still going strong. The multi jet diesel engine has given no trouble at all except for replacing timing chain every lakh km, as well as cleaning the injectors, every lakh km.9) servicing done at every 10,000 km, while normal service costs ₹6000, after 10 years, costs are double or triple the amount of Normal service.10)Major costs, incurred have been for replacing turbo (₹10,000) intercooler (₹5000) Alternator (₹20,000) as these need to be replaced, after 2 lakh km.11) minor costs include, cleaning EGR valves, replacing clutch set every 60 to 80 K,, replacing gas filled shock absorbers, ( ₹5000), overhauling suspension ( ₹10,000), the last two, after covering every lakh km, again it depends on your driving style & good roads can save you, these costs.12) so if you drive less than 30 km a day, go for petrol, if you want to enjoy, the pleasure of driving, or drive more than 50 km a day, go for diesel swift.

Im using swift diesel for past 7years.No major problem for me. Always available for me whenever required. It's pleasure to go for long drive and in hills. Good in mileage and better in performance. value for money.
