The mileage depends on the way it is maintained, road/traffic condition, your riding style as well. Moreover, in order to improve the mileage, we would suggest you to ride slower. Riding fast can reduce your fuel efficiency by up to 33% if you are traveling above 50-60 kmph. It is best to change gears appropriately and match the gear and the RPM carefully.Changing the fuel filter on a regular basis will ensure that your car runs smoothly by letting only fuel into the engine instead of other residue from the tank and a clean air filter promotes better combustion which optimizes fuel economy. The tire pressure should be checked at least monthly because properly inflated tires can improve fuel efficiency by up to 3%. Whether you use synthetic of natural oil, using an additive can improve fuel efficiency by up to 15%. While ABS is missing, the brakes deliver good feedback, have good bite and feel progressive. Despite the non-ABS assist, braking time was good. During brake tests, the FZ25 came to a standstill from 80kmph in 3.61 seconds, covering a distance of 30.02 metres. The 60-0kmph times were 2.89 seconds, covering a distance of 15.85 metres. While braking times are on par with some 200cc bikes we have tested, braking distances are significantly shorter. ABS can't be added afterwards. Moreover, we would suggest you to exchange your words with the authorised service center for further clarification. I have done a 1500 kms round trip on this bike, surprised by the performance of this bike.Though the horses and torque is less when compared to other bikes in this segment, the bike holds up very smooth at cruising speeds up to 115, didn't feel any vibrations. The breaking was best in class. With Good Mileage of 35kmpl at cruising speeds, well places handlebar and comfortable seat. This machine is a good buddy for touring distance at this price point. If you don't want to spend too much money, and still need a good simple bike for all your purpose go for it. If you're looking for high end torque and high pickup, and aggressive seating this might not be the right option. But still this it's a very good bike for touring.happy riding😊

  • Q. I am planning to buy new bike and Yamaha FZ 25 is a strong contender. I prefer to go for touring, I only have one question in my mind, will it be able to cruise smoothly, effortlessly without vibration at three digit speed?

The FZ25 is the most affordable 250cc motorcycle available in the country. It serves as a good upgrade for those looking to trade up from their 150-180cc machines with its added dose of style and practicality and unintimidating performance. As for performance, it might not feel as competent as its rivals but as a package, the FZ25 has a larger audience, having something for everyone. And despite its simplicity, it delivers that all-important joy of riding. A sweet package indeed. Talking about the touring use, What the shorter ratios give at low speeds, it takes away as the speeds increase. The short gearing means the engine runs at higher revs at highway speeds. This is not an ideal situation for touring as it makes sustained riding tiresome. This also limits the true top speed to 123.91kmph. Moreover, do take the test ride of the bike to clear all your doubts.
