If you want go for 200cc bike you should not look to mileage because if you take bike by looking mileage you will take apache200 4v but after that you will not get proper service even Apache 200 4v indicator bulb is not available on service centre from this you should think about the service of TVS

Tight its screws daily before and after a ride of 50-100kms... Clean the chain in every 300kms... Don't let it for the direct sunlight and rain water... Always stay connected to the engine and keep checking itz oil and coolant..

  • Q. Can we get better mileage on this - Pulsar NS200?

Better mileage depends on three things i) Good driving ii) Traffic Conditions iii) Good maintenance 2 Things out of these 3 are in your control. Better Maintenance would include 1.Using high-quality petrol of your preferred Oil outlet. 2.Using Motul based oils for the engine. 3. Periodic servicing. 4. Tyre maintenance. 5. Better Gear shifting patterns. Its all in your control. Traffic can't be controlled unless you want to cut a few corners by finding better shortcuts with low traffic.

NS is much cheaper than both of your options. Provides good mileage and enough grunt. Both City and highway travel are pretty comfortable on NS. Highway cruise speed normally is between 90 and 110 kmph which good but yes if you can go beyond it can also cruise at 125 and 130. Both the speed bands are good for highway. But if the pillion rider is heavy then the mileage drops to 20-25 kmpl. That can be a bit of disadvantage.

  • Q. Which bike is good to buy between Pulsar NS200 and Pulsar 150 in terms of mileage?

When its About Mileage 150 will be the option but based on performance, NS 200 top’s it thogh its around 33-35 kmpl on a average. I would prefer 150 based on mileage and NS Based on Performance. There is just a 20-25k price variation

    1. PRICE - Apache and FZ are bit costlier than NS. 2. SPEED AND POWER - NS and FZ are similar with NS winning on the top speed. But Apache loses on this ground. NS is the most powerful of the lot. 3. LOOKS - NS is the oldest of the lot and FZ newest. Apache has the sharpest design. Yet, I find NS and FZ better on design. VERDICT - NS. There is not much difference in the mileage but as you can compromise on that. Let's talk about other aspects. My advice - NS. it's the cheapest of the lot. I am using the bike for three straight yrs yet don't feel bored of the looks. It still looks good to me especially when I wash and polish it. Yet I would say the best looking bike is FZ but it comes with a 20k premium. I have been on the highway many times and you can overtake any truck in any great, it rides smooth as butter until 120 and then little vibrations hee and there come. Of course the real power of the beast comes in once you cross 5k rpm but I did not feel any problem risking in lower range in the city. It is just awesome. And the best part - with little efforts 120 can be maintained even in the uphill roads. But, if you are ready to pay the premium for the better build quality which Yamaha is known for then go for FZ
