TVS Jupiter Latest Updates

TVS has launched an updated iteration of the Jupiter Classic. It comes with more classy bits along with a decent price hike.

The Prices for the Jupiter 110 now start at Rs 69,990 and go up to Rs 85,866 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Jupiter is a popular TVS scooter currently on sale. Its success can be attributed to its features, frugal motor, and competitive price point.

TVS Jupiter Engine

Powering the TVS Jupiter is a 109.7cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, producing 7.88PS and 8.8Nm. TVS claims that this scooter delivers 15 percent better fuel economy compared to its BS4-compliant predecessor. It is underpinned by an underbone frame with a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable monoshock. The Jupiter rolls on 12-inch alloys with tubeless tyres and gets drum brakes on both ends as standard, while also having a front disc brake as an option. At 109kg, Jupiter is one of the heaviest 110cc scooters out there, however it also gets 150mm of ground clearance which is more than adequate for a scooter. At 21 litres, the Jupiter’s underseat storage is also pretty good.

TVS Jupiter Variants

The TVS Jupiter is available in six variants: Sheet Metal (Rs 69,990), Standard (Rs 73,671), ZX (Rs 78,446), Disc (Rs 82,446), Classic (Rs 85,866) and ZX Disc with SmartXonnect (Rs 85,246). The ZX variant features beige plastic panels and a two-tone seat, whereas the Classic variant flaunts a tinted visor, chrome mirrors, elegant looking graphics along with a backrest.

TVS Jupiter Design

In terms of appearance, the TVS Jupiter continues to retain the same simple, commuter-based yet classy styling as its predecessor. In its latest iteration, the Jupiter comes with an LED headlight. Buyers can choose from multiple colour options across all the variants. The base Jupiter variant comes in Titanium Grey, Midnight Black, Metallic Red, Pristine White, Walnut Brown, and Metallic Blue. The ZX and ZX Disc variants come in Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. The ZX Disc SmartXonnect variant is available in Matte Black and Copper Bronze shades. Lastly, the top-spec Jupiter Classic variant is available in Regal Purple and Mystic Grey colourways.

TVS Jupiter Features

The Jupiter gets an LED headlamp, something its main rival, the Honda Activa 6G misses out on. It features an analogue instrument console as standard which provides information about speed, fuel level, and along with other telltale signs. Some variants get a semi-digital instrument cluster. Other features include an external fuel filler cap, external pass light switch, and alloy wheels (another thing that the Active 6G does not get). While the scooter gets a standard USB charging outlet on the front apron, TVS also offers an under seat USB port as an option. The Jupiter ZX Disc variant also comes with a silent starter, called i-TOUCHstart in TVS lingo.

TVS Jupiter Competitors

The TVS Jupiter rivals the likes of the Honda Activa 6G, and the Hero Maestro Edge 110.

On the other hand, the Jupiter Classic variant goes up against the Hero Pleasure Xtec and the Honda Activa 6G Premium Edition.

What is good and bad in Jupiter?

  • Jupiter Positives

Fuel-efficient, Great ride quality, Only 110cc scooter to get Smartphone connectivity.

  • Jupiter Negatives

Outdated design, Price has gone up.

  • Expert's Conclusion

The Jupiter continues to be a fantastic alternative to the popular Honda Activa. While the Activa in its 6G avatar comes close to the Jupiter in terms of features, the Jupiter still has the edge on this end with the recently introduced smartphone connectivity. We feel that TVS could have equipped the Jupiter with more features to offset the inevitable price hike. It continues to be our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale.
