Volkswagen Polo 2024

Volkswagen has taken wraps off the facelifted Polo GTI. While design changes are similar to the standard Polo, the GTI sports red elements on the headlamps, connected DRLs, and brake callipers. It also sports wider tail lamps, redesigned bumpers, dual exhaust tips and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the Polo GTI will continue the pre-facelift model’s 2.0-litre TSI that produces 207PS and 320Nm. Coupled with a 7-speed DSG, power will be sent to the front two wheels.

Features: The facelifted Polo features a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry with push-button start. Safety is covered by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and parking sensors.

Engine: Volkswagen offers the facelifted Polo with three powertrains: 80PS 1.0-litre petrol, 95PS 1.0-litre TSI, and 110PS 1.0-litre TSI. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual as standard and a 7-speed DCT, with the latter being offered in the TSI engines. Back in India, the hatchback is likely to come equipped with the Kushaq’s 115PS 1.0-litre TSI engine, coupled with 6-speed manual and torque converter options.

Rivals: Volkswagen Polo locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, and Honda Jazz.
