Expert's Opinion on F77
Overview

- The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is the second generation of the brand’s electric motorcycle. It has better performance along with the additional features. But have these made a difference in the real-world performance? Here’s what we think
Design

- Features an aggressive design which takes inspiration from fighter jets, particularly the F-22 Raptor
- Gets a more rugged aluminum cover for the charging port
- Gets tank grips as standard, which is a really nice addition
- Overall, the design is not that different from the previous generation model
Performance & Mileage

- The bike has a smooth throttle calibration, with a linear power delivery before hitting 30kmph
- The motor produces a burst of torque after crossing 30kmph
- The bike has a claimed 0-100kmph acceleration time of 7.8 seconds & a claimed top speed of 155kmph
Handling

- Offers superb handling & is really good at hitting the corners
- The MRF tyres used on the bike offer really good grip
- Braking performance is quite impressive & brings the bike to a halt quickly
Ride Quality

- The stiff suspension offers sporty handling, but is not the most practical for daily commutes
Comfort & Storage

- The rider seat is quite roomy and allows the rider to move around a bit
- The committed and sporty riding posture might not be something many riders will appreciate
Features

- The console has a clean layout and is easy to read
- The Recon variant gets 10-levels of regen braking which mimics engine braking on a petrol powered bike
- The 4-level traction control system adds a layer of safety overall
- Hill-hold assist is also fairly useful
- Standard variant misses out on a lot of features, which is a bit of a letdown
Verdict

- If you’re someone who is looking to get a performance electric bike, then the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is a choice worth considering. The bike manages to offer good performance, sporty handling along with some much needed features. That said, the ride quality is a bit stiff and the bike may not be the best option for everyday commutes.
Key Things to Know about F77
- Handles like a proper sportbike
- Torquey motor provides punchy acceleration
- Ride quality is surprisingly good
- Looks like nothing else on Indian roads
- Riding position can feel aggressive to some
- ABS feels a bit intrusive
- It is quite expensive
The Ultraviolette F77 is the most powerful and sportiest electric motorcycle you can buy in India. But thanks to its high asking price and lack of fast charging infrastructure across the country, it will be relegated to only the most enthusiastic EV lovers who enjoy short, fast and fun runs in and around their city.

- The Ultraviolette F77 follows a streetfighter theme but with full side fairings designed to look seamless. The sleek LED headlight comes with signature V-shaped LED DRLs making it look quite premium. Further raising the quotient of sportiness are the clip-on handlebars and chiselled 'tank' which houses the charging port. The fairing design goes hand-in-glove with the rear portion of the bike, which includes a raised tail section with a split-seat setup and a conventional license plate holder.
