Key Things to Know about Zest

Upside
  • Space, ride and features
Downside
  • Lack of stowage, soft seats
Expert's Conclusion

The Zest is a big step up for Tata Motors be it design, interior look and feel or quality. The new 1.2-litre turbo petrol works well and with an AMT transmission for the diesel variant, Zest now becomes the cheapest diesel automatic one can buy. It is definitely worth a look in.

HI I AM THE OWNER OF TATA

Hi i am the owner of tata zest xt model 2016 year. This car is a sedan, The car looks great from exterior and interior. The driving experience is awesome, This car offers 3 modes as eco, City, Sport.Eco mode gives high mileage, City mode is also good.Sport mode gives more power to the car.The best thing about this car is that this car offers a stero system of harman.Harman music system has a next level voice.Zest is having 4 speakers and 2 twitters.Eco mode gives about 18 mileage. The pickup is also good.Build quality is the thing which makes tata different from other brands.Build quality is very good. There is a touch screen and climate controls can also be handled through the touch screen.Tata is also giving very nice after sale service. No complains will be there about after sale service and build quality.

Q. Hi,I have Tata Zest XM model, and its timing chain was not changed at 60000km, now it is about to reach 80000km. Can you suggest if I can run more with its existing timing chain? Actually, I'm planning to change the same at next service which is due around 85000km.
  • Tata Motors suggest that the timing chain for the 90PS version is to be replaced at 60k kms and if I don't get it changed there will be trouble for my warranty. (Estimate of around 10-12k pre GST)...The seller , recommended since Zest has a timing chain instead of a timing belt, it needs to be replaced at 90,000 kms.So...Regarding, the timing chain, it is a fact that Tata Motors recommends change at 60,000Kms for the Fiat sourced 90PS Quadrajet engines. Manufacturers make such recommendations based on the wear and tear recorded by them during the extensive developmental testing. Usually they have good reasons for such recommendations and it is best to comply with them.
