UPDATE: Hyundai India has launched the 2023 Verna in the country, with prices starting from Rs 10.9 lakh.
Just a day ahead of its launch in India, production-spec 2023 Hyundai Verna’s images have surfaced online and units have started reaching dealerships. And these pictures give us a first look at the upcoming sedan’s interior, which definitely seems more upmarket and premium.

The 2023 Hyundai Verna’s dashboard seems to take influence from the Ioniq 5, design wise. It gets a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, which merges on the Venue-like digital driver’s display. Below that are the sleek AC vents with an ambient light strip running across the width of the dash, once again, like the Ioniq 5.

It also gets unique touches like switchable controls for the AC and infotainment, where you operate these features using the same set of knobs. And the steering wheel, which is a two-spoke unit, is once again, very similar to the more premium EV. Overall, the Verna’s interior seems to be a pleasant place to spend time in.

The features list is also hefty, with the sedan getting almost all the kit one would need. Top highlights include ventilated and heated seats (the latter being a segment first), a Bose sound system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof and push button start. Its safety kit is mainly reinforced by ADAS, alongside multiple airbags and electronic stability control.

For its latest generation, the new Hyundai Verna takes the petrol-only-powertrains route. It will get the carmaker’s 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol and 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options. A six-speed manual is standard, while automatic options include a CVT and seven-speed DCT for the NA petrol and turbo-petrol, respectively.

We suspect the new-generation Hyundai Verna to be priced around the Rs 10-lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will rival the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the facelifted Honda City.
