2023 was a good year to be in the market for a new car. There was something for everyone and this includes those preferring sedans. With SUVs gaining more popularity, the choices for sedan fans were limited but still included fast sports sedans, electric and luxury ICE models and facelifts, as well as new-gen models of popular sedans.

The C43 AMG packs in serious performance for under a crore rupees. The sports sedan packs in a powerful 403 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, along with AMG-specific styling cues and other chassis enhancements. The sedan gets a 4.6-second 0-100 kmph time. While the regular C-Class might suffice for most folks, the C43 takes the performance of the sedan to the next level. Read more about the C43 in our detailed review here.

BMW launched the new-gen 7 Series in India soon after their global debut. This time around, apart from the regular petrol and diesel options, we also have an all-electric variant dubbed the i7. The sedan comes with a new fascia, bold exterior styling, luxurious interiors, and a large curved display on the dashboard. Alongside, the rear occupants also get a 31.3-inch 8K display that swings down from the roof. Read more about the BMW 7 Series in our earlier report.

The new-gen Hyundai Verna is a well-rounded sedan that comes with a powerful engine, updated interiors and modern exteriors. We can see that Hyundai has upped its game for the 2023 Verna. Furthermore, the feature-loaded sedan also boasts a 5-star GNCAcP rating. For more details on the Hyundai Verna, refer to our first drive report.

The fifth-gen City was introduced back in 2020. The Japanese carmaker facelifted the sedan with a midlife refresh with minor updates. As part of the updates, the sedan saw a variant rejig, introduction of ADAS on non-hybrid variants, and the launch of an entry-level trim with the hybrid powertrain. Take a look at our drive report for more details.
Despite the limited new sedans launched in 2023, the choice spans a wide range of prices and performance as well. Let us know down in the comments which car would you pick from this list.
