This is the sixth time the validity of said documents has been extended.
Documents include vehicle registration, fitness certificates, permits, and driving licence.
Extension is applicable to all states and union territories in the country.
With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to affect day-to-day operations, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) has extended the deadline for renewal/registration of all vehicle-related documents until the end of September 2021.

This gives more time to those who were on the fence regarding the renewal or registration of the aforementioned documents, but couldn’t do the paperwork since offices were closed.
This makes it the sixth such extension, with the previous one coming in March 2021. The documents valid for this extension include vehicle registration, fitness certificates, permits, and driving licence that either expired on February 1, 2020, or will expire by September 30, 2021. This applies to all states and union territories in India.
Besides, certain carmakers have also stepped in by extending vehicle’s free service and warranty periods expiring between April and June.

With physical visits to showrooms still being risky, several carmakers have launched digital platforms for vehicle bookings, setting up appointments for test drives, servicing as well as availing of special finance schemes for purchasing a car.
We suggest you take advantage of these digital solutions and stay home until the situation improves.
