This extension is applicable to all states and union territories in the country.
Listed documents include driving licences, registrations, fitness, permit (all types), and any other concerned documents.
While the day-to-day operations in India have started getting back to normal, the pandemic isn’t over, so social distancing and other health protocols are still important. In lieu of this, those who were on the fence regarding the renewal of their driving licence or car/bike registration, but couldn’t do the paperwork since offices were closed, have been given yet more time. After implementing extensions on March 30, June 9, and August 24, these vehicle documents are now valid up to March 31, 2021.

This order, implemented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, is the fourth such extension and will mark one year since the first one was announced. The documents listed under the extension of validation include driving licences, registrations, fitness, permit (all types), and any other concerned documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.
The extension is applicable to all states and union territories in the country and covers all documents expired since February 1, 2020, or due to expire by March 31, 2021. This decision has been taken to prevent mass gathering in view of the ongoing pandemic.

Besides, carmakers already have you covered with online digital platforms. These platforms enable vehicle bookings, setting up appointments for test drives and servicing as well as availing of special finance schemes for purchasing your car.
