Post the success of the Tata Nano brand store on eBay India, Tata Motors has now launched the Safari Storme Brand Store on the popular e-commerce website. The online store will feature products ranging from clothing to travel & camping gear. Leather key-chains, trekking bags, t-shirts, camping Swiss knives and magnetic compass are part of the products on display.
Delna Avari, Head – Marketing Communications, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “Through this initiative, we aim to further engage and deepen our connect with the ever discerning customer, who is increasingly turning to the online space, to not only plan their next holiday, but also make purchase of music, games and possibly everything, even for day to day use.”
Ratul Ghosh, Head – Strategy, eBay India, said, “Post the success of the Tata Nano brand store, we are delighted to announce the Tata Safari Storme brand store on eBay India. The brand store will showcase special merchandise inspired from the iconic SUV brand exclusively for over 2.1 million active eBay consumers in India.”
E-commerce is the next big thing in retail but carmakers have stayed away for most of it in India. Towards last year though, during the Google online shopping festival, 250 Tata cars and 35 Nissans were sold online. We expect more involvement from the automotive industry in the future seeing such initiatives.
