Renault has already exported 760 units of the Kiger to South Africa.
Launched back in February 2021, the SUV has a waiting period of up to six weeks in India.
Renault retails the Kiger from Rs 5.64 lakh to Rs 10.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Renault India has begun exports of its subcompact SUV, the Kiger, to South Africa. The first lot, consisting of 760 units, has already been dispatched from Renault’s Chennai plant. Renault had earlier shipped the SUV to Nepal and is set to expand to Indonesia, SAARC regions, and other parts of Africa soon.

Back in India, the Renault Kiger was launched in February 2021 and has been a bread-and-butter model for the carmaker. Thanks to its competitive pricing, Rs 5.64 lakh to Rs 10.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the sub-4m SUV commands a waiting period of up to six weeks.

The Renault Kiger comes with two powertrain options: 72PS/96Nm 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and 100PS/160Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motors. Both engines can be specced with either a standard 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT (for the naturally aspirated engine) and a CVT (for the turbo-petrol motor).

Renault packs the SUV with features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Arkamys tuned sound system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and three drive modes: eco, normal, and sport. In terms of safety, it gets four airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, traction control, and a rear camera with rear parking sensors. A wireless phone charger and a Philips PM 2.5 AC filter are offered as optional extras.

The sub-4 meter SUV has a long list of rivals in the country, including the Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300.
