The production-ready bike gets revised ergonomics to make it more touring-friendly

  • CFMoto is most likely to bring the 300SR to India instead of the 250SR.
  • It will be powered by the 292.4cc single-cylinder engine from the 300NK.
  • The 300SR will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
  • Expect the bike to be priced around 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

Remember CFMoto’s fully-faired iteration of the 300NK, a mean-looking 250SR concept that was unveiled a couple of months ago? If you do, you’d also recall that the bike was spotted in its near-production-ready avatar quite recently. And now, from the looks of it, the CFMoto 250SR all set to hit the assembly line, albeit with revised ergonomics to make it more touring-friendly.

The overall styling looks pretty close to the concept thanks to Kiska, the same folks responsible for KTM’s radical designs. The bike still retains its menacing front fascia with split LED headlamps, an LED tail light and turn indicators. What’s changed is the ergonomics. Unlike the concept 250SR that was showcased earlier with low-set clip-on handlebars, the production version gets taller handlebars which hints at a sporty tourer.

What’s also worth noting is that the supersport keeps the tubular swingarm that was seen on the concept instead of the traditional box-section swingarm that was earlier spotted on the production unit. While the bike in the picture is essentially a 250NK powered by a 249.2cc engine, the one that will eventually be sold in India is likely to be powered by a 292.4cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that’s seen on the 300NK. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

In terms of underpinnings, the supersport features an upside-down fork, a monoshock, alloy wheels and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Expect the 300SR to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo with a price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh considering the 250NK retails at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Once launched, it will go head to head with the TVS Apache RR 310, the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
