One Lakh Hyundai Elite i20 Sold in 11 Months

Hyundai Motor India has announced that it has sold (cumulative sales) 1 lakh units of the Hyundai Elite i20 premium hatchback in India in a span of just 11 months. The second generation Hyundai i20 was launched as the new Hyundai Elite i20, with its global unveiling on August 11, 2014 in India.

The new Hyundai Elite i20 has been one of the most awarded cars of the year 2014-15, and was also the 2014 ET ZigWheels Car of the Year and the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2015. The new Hyundai Elite i20 is extremely popular in its segment due to its attractive design, high quality interior, fit and finish, and long list of standard equipment.

Elite i20 created a new benchmark in the automotive industry by foraying into the list of top 10 most selling brands in India within the second month of its launch. Available in both petrol and diesel engine options, Hyundai claims that the engines offer best in class mileage. The Hyundai Elite i20 petrol variant with a 1.2 Dual VTVT Kappa claims to return 18.60kmpl (Era/Magna - ARAI Certified), while the diesel version with the 2nd Generation U2 1.4 CRDi promises a mileage of 22.54kmpl (Era/Magna – ARAI Certified).
