It is not every day that we report on automotive tie-ups, but when names like McLaren and OnePlus are mentioned in the same breath - you take notice. McLaren is also a disruptor in the sports car segment, with products like the legendary F1, the new P1 hypercar, hardcore Senna and the upcoming Speedtail setting new segment goals.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Launched in India

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, OnePlus has tied up with McLaren and launched one its ‘fastest’ smartphones in India - the 6T McLaren Edition. This, both the company’s claim, is the beginning of a partnership which ‘celebrates speed’.

How? The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is the only model in the 6T lineup to feature a whopping 10GB of RAM. While internal storage capacity is capped at 256GB, the added memory should make it a faster phone overall - and help improve video capture and multitasking.

The 6T McLaren will also be offered with the ‘Warp Charge 30’ technology, which adds new ICs in the phone and charger along with a new power management system which charges the battery with 30 watts of power flow. The higher power flow should allow ‘a day’s power’ in just 20 minutes of charging, OnePlus claims, without heating/performance penalties.

McLaren’s signature Papaya Orange colour can be seen on the lower edge of the phone and on the box. A carbon-fibre finish is used under the glass back, while the box features McLaren’s iconic ‘Speedmark’ logo in carbon-fibre. Special animations on the phone and a special book celebrating the history of both the companies complete the Limited Edition experience.

What does all this exclusivity cost? Rs 50,999 - Rs 5,000 more than the 8GB RAM/256GB.
