Hero Splendor Pro Classic technical specification revealed

Technical specifications of the Splendor Pro Classic have been released by Hero MotoCorp. Powering the cafe racer is the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor as seen on other Splendor offerings. But the Hero Splendor Pro Classic’s powerplant has been tuned slightly as it churns out 8.36Ps at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. Power is transferred to the rear-wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. This means the new Hero Splendor Pro Classic has an advantage of almost 1PS over the standard Splendor while torque figures are almost similar.

The Hero Splendor Pro Classic had made its public debut at the 2014 Auto Expo. In terms of design, the Splendor Pro Classic features typical cafe racer design details like a round headlamp; wire spoke wheels, a cafe racer cowl and round tail lamps. Other details on the bike include restyled graphics, lowered handle bar, chrome finished mudguards, twin pod analogue instrument console and maintenance free battery. The Hero Splendor Pro Classic will be the first single seat offering from the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in our country. Braking on the new offering is done via 130mm dia drum brakes at front and 110mm dia drum brakes at rear. The Hero Pro Classic has a fuel tank capacity of 11-litres and the bike tips the scale at 109kg.

The new Splendor Pro Classic will be offered in two shades of Carbon Black and Solid Maroon. Hero hasn’t divulged details about the Splendor Pro Classic’s pricing but it is expected that the bike will be priced above Rs 50,000 (ex-showroom). The bike is expected to be launched around the festive season and the Hero Splendor Pro Classic will be the cheapest cafe racer offering in the world. Booking for the bike has been commenced at Hero dealerships across the country.
