In an attempt to gain a greater grip on the India midsize car segment, Ford India has announced a sizeable discount over the Fiesta. The discount has been effected over the entire Ford Fiesta range and will continue until December 13.
The base petrol variant for the Fiesta that cost Rs 6.20 lakh until now will go for an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.29 lakh. The diesel Fiesta range will now start at Rs 6.59 lakh as opposed to Rs 7.10 lakh earlier.
The move comes after a growing emphasis on improving the value for money proposition in the current Indian car climate, something that competitors like Maruti Suzuki have nailed with the SX4. It must be mentioned here that the Fiesta has garnered rave reviews for being one of the most driver-oriented and sporty cars in its segment.
The new Ford Fiesta model range includes three petrol variants - 1.6 EXI, 1.6 ZXI and 1.6 SXI - and three common-rail, turbodiesel variants - 1.4 EXI, 1.4 ZXI and 1.4 SXI. The recently launched Fiesta 1.6 S is a sporty variant, and will fall under the blanket of the discount as well.
