The main talking point of the XUV300 Sportz lies under the hood. It features a new BS6-compliant 1.2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that develops 130PS of power and 230Nm of torque, 20PS and 30Nm more than the stock petrol model. Other differentiating factors between the XUV300 Sportz and the standard model include cosmetic enhancements. Red brake callipers and plenty of body decals in the Sportz variant denote that you’re driving the sportier model. Inside, it will be offered with a black dashboard with plenty of red accents on the seats and steering wheel.

Mahindra will offer the XUV300 Sportz along with the standard model. Expect it to be based on the top-spec petrol XUV when it hits showrooms. That means one can expect it to be priced above the Rs 12 lakh mark (ex-showroom). The XUV300 Sportz will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue Turbo and Tata Nexon. That said, it’s pricing could push it into the Kia Seltos’ and Hyundai Creta’s territory. It will also rival the upcoming Ford EcoSport EcoBoost which will utilise the same powertrain.
