India is one of the fastest growing markets for vehicles, be it two wheelers or four wheelers. Close to 18 million two wheelers were sold in our country last year and with it, we have become the largest two wheeler market in the world. This fact has surely attracted a lot of big manufacturers to launch their products in our country. For instance, we have recently seen BMW launch a dozen motorcycles along with their own BMW Motorrad showrooms in four cities.
American motorcycle manufacturer Cleveland CycleWerks has now confirmed their plans to enter the Indian market by September 2017. The company is known for manufacturing classic, modern and custom motorcycles. It is a small motorcycle company that was setup by three people, namely Scott Colosimo, Jarrod Streng and Curtis Ray, and is based out of Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The company currently has got a good number of motorcycles on offer which are split in three categories – classic, modern and custom.
The classic motorcycles offered by the company includes Heist/Iron One, Misfit Gen II and Ace. The Ace is offered in four different models – Ace Deluxe, Ace Standard, Ace Café and Ace Scrambler. The modern class has two vehicles on offer: the FXx/FXR and Hooligun, the latter offered in two engine options of 250cc and 450cc, called as Hooligun X and Hooligun R.
Most of the components of CCW's motorcycles are sourced from China while the company currently sells their motorcycles in 25 countries. The engine displacement of the motorcycles ranges from 150cc to 450cc and they’re based on the previous Honda motors. CCW will enter the Indian market in collaboration with Laish-Madison MotorWerks, a Hyderabad-based company. LMMW plans to assemble CCW bikes in India and the plant will most probably be set in Telangana state itself.
Initially the company will launch three motorcycles by September 2017 followed by the remaining two, which will most probably be launched next year. The company has already created their India specific website which points towards their rediness towards entering Indian market. The website displays the Misfit, the Ace and the FXR bikes which are most likely to launched in the country. As these motorcycles offer a different flair in the neck to neck competition market, we eagerly wait for them to be launched in the country soon.
