It looks like the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV’s launch is just around the corner, as the carmaker has commenced pre-launch bookings. On top of this, the carmaker is also offering a complimentary maintenance for 5 years/ 50,000km. But this offer will only be valid until April 6.

The locally assembled C5 Aircross will be offered in two trims: Feel and Shine. Four colour options will be available, in which three of them will also be offered in a dual-tone option. It has chic crossover-like presence, with notable elements such as dual beam LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, a twin-slat front grille, LED taillamps, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and chrome faux dual exhaust pipes. Practicality is the name of the game, with a 580 litre boot, that extends to 720 litres when you push the rear seats forward. Folding up all three individual rear seats increases boot capability to 1,630 litres.

Features-wise, the C5 Aircross is packed with creature comforts like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display, panoramic sunroof, hands free tailgate, air purifier, phone mirroring, mood lighting, and three individually adjustable reclining and modular rear seats. Some of the safety kit on offer includes six airbags, ABS with EBD electric parking brake, reverse camera and blind-spot monitoring. There’s also a grip control system with five modes: Standard, Snow, All Terrain, Sand and Traction Control Off.

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre diesel motor delivering 177PS and 400Nm, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also gets Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system, claimed to make your ride over road bumps much more comfortable. We’ve already had a feeler of that system, which you can read more about here.
The Citroen C5 Aircross should go on sale in India pretty soon, with prices likely to range from Rs 28 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Rivals will include the Jeep Compass, and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan facelift.
