Pre-launch bookings for the SUV are open for a token amount of Rs 50,000.
The C5 Aircross is expected to be priced from Rs 28 lakh onwards.
It will be a diesel-only offering with just an 8-speed automatic transmission option.
Citroen has officially announced the launch date for its first car to go on sale in India, the C5 Aircross. It will go on sale on April 7, a day after the early bird offer that comes with a 5 year/50,000km maintenance package ends.

The C5 Aircross is expected to arrive in two variants: Feel and Shine. Its main focus is on comfort, considering it will offer ‘Advanced Comfort Seats’ (seats with memory foam) and ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ suspension. The three rear seats get a modular setup, which means they can slide to and fro as well as recline individually.

To add to the comfort, the C5 Aircross will come with features such as an 8-inch infotainment system, 6-speaker sound system, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, powered driver’s seat, and five drive modes: Standard, Snow, Sand, All-terrain, and Traction Control Off. Safety will be covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, parking sensors, and a blind-spot monitoring system.

Under the hood, the SUV will get a 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 177PS and 400Nm. The engine will come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. There will be no manual gearbox or petrol engine on offer with the SUV.

Citroen’s foray into the Indian market will mark the return of Groupe PSA or now Stellantis (post its merger with Jeep’s owner FCA), after a tragic Peugeot stint that ended in the late 90s. The French carmaker is expected to price the C5 Aircross from Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Pre-launch bookings for the SUV are already open for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The C5 Aircross will lock horns with the Jeep Compass and the upcoming facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan.
