It is no secret that Honda is gearing up to launch the facelifted WR-V in India. We got a partial look at the Jazz-based crossover while Honda had already started accepting bookings for. That said, we present you the first look of the WR-V which was spotted at a dealership yard ahead of launch.

The biggest change is the new grille, which gets vertical slats along with a pronounced chrome strip similar to the outgoing version. You can also see the new LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs inside along with LED fog lamps. The side profile remains the same and the alloys wheel design is also carried forward. At the rear, you get redesigned internal detailing of the C-shaped tail lamps with new LED elements. Apart from these changes, the WR-V remains more or less the same.

The cabin is identical to the outgoing version, with the highlights being the gloss back trim and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which should now support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, auto AC, push-button start, cruise control and an electric sunroof will be carried forward.

Under the hood will be a choice of two BS6 powertrains. First up is the 1.2-litre petrol engine that’s good for 90PS/100Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit developing 100PS and 200Nm, paired up with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

It is safe to expect a premium for the updated WR-V, probably ranging between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 for the petrol and Rs 50,000 for the diesel. Currently, the WR-V is priced from Rs 8.08 lakh to Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Key rivals include the Maruti Viatara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
