BMW Silently Launches the 740Li DPE

BMW has introduced the new 7 Series flagship vehicle with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel variant is priced lower compared to the petrol variant. The new 7 Series has been showcased at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo with a starting price of Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi), in the presence of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Offered in two variants, the new flagship limousine is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine which will deliver 268PS of power and 620Nm of torque while the petrol variant get the 4.4-litre V8 TwinTurbo engine capable of producing 456PS of power and 610Nm of torque. Both the variants will be coupled to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. The diesel variant has been offered with a rear wheel drive setup while the V8 petrol variant get the latest intelligent all-wheel drive xDrive setup. The new 7 Series now receives air suspension as a standard fitment at both axles which was previously only offered at the rear.
The new 7 Series has been offered with a big list of new features like driver assisted self-driving, self-park assist programme, sky lounge panoramic sunroof and the latest laser headlamps. Inside, the new BMW is equipped with an option of a 12.3-inch multifunctional instrumental display which alters the graphics and colour scheme depending on the driving mode selected. The display houses four circular dials with a magnifier option to highlight current speed and engine rpm. The control panel of the new 7 Series features touch sensitive surface for the first time. The seats are draped in plush leather upholstery with cooled and massage seats providing maximum comfort at all times.
The 7 series will be seen competing in the luxury segment against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8, Maserati Quattroporte, and the new Jaguar XJ.
