Hyundai Alcazar petrol variants and prices

The 2023 Alcazar gets a subtle cosmetic update in the form of a revised grille that now features a chrome strip at the bottom. In addition, when you open the doors, the new puddle lamps project ‘Alcazar’ on the ground. All variants of the Alcazar get an idle-start-stop system and six airbags as standard.

For now, Hyundai has only revealed the prices of the Alcazar’s petrol variant. The SUV continues to be offered in Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O) and Signature (O) trim levels.

Moreover, the lower Prestige and Platinum variants only get the standard, manual transmission in the seven-seater variant. The top two variants, Platinum (O) and Signature (O), are automatic-only, and cost the same for the six-seater and seven-seater models.

The diesel-powered Alcazar was earlier priced between Rs 16.71 lakh and Rs 21.1 lakh (ex-showroom), but is likely to carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 with the updated engine.

New powertrains and key features

The highlight of the Alcazar’s 2023 updates is its new, 1.5-litre GDi turbo-petrol engine that replaces the older 2-litre naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol unit. It makes 160PS and 253Nm and gets a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with higher-spec variants getting a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Fans of oil burners rejoice – the Alcazar’s 1.5-litre diesel engine has been updated to meet RDE norms and makes 116PS and 250Nm. It should be offered with a six-speed automatic transmission option in addition to the standard manual transmission.

The Alcazar is a well-equipped SUV with features such as six airbags (as standard), a panoramic sunroof, fully digital driver’s display, ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera.

The Hyundai Alcazar rivals the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700 SUVs.
