Volkswagen’s compact SUV, the Taigun, has been on sale for a year in the country. To mark this occasion, the German marque has launched an Anniversary Edition of the car based on the Topline variant. In its first year of being on sale in India, the Taigun has garnered over 40,000 orders and over 22,000 units have already been delivered.

Volkswagen has a history of offering special editions of its mainstream models frequently. Following the same trend, it has now introduced the First Anniversary Edition of the Taigun.
Since it is based on the Topline variant, the Anniversary Edition of the compact SUV gets the same 1-litre turbo-petrol engine which can be paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic.
It packs all the features present on the trim that it is based on, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, single-pane sunroof, auto climate control, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. Its safety kit comprises up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear-view camera.

The First Anniversary Edition Taigun exclusively gets a new Rising Blue hue in addition to the existing shades such as Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red.
Other design revisions include the addition of window visors, door-edge protectors, body-coloured door garnish, new C-pillar graphics, black ORVM caps and roof foil. It gets a ‘1st’ anniversary emblem on the outside and inside, with the cabin also featuring aluminium pedals derived from the 1.5-litre equipped variants.
