Suzuki has taken the wraps off the Jimny Heritage Edition, which gets a retro look with its body decals and graphics. This limited special edition off-roader destined for the Australian market will be limited to 300 units, that too with the petrol-manual powertrain. It’s based on the three-door model and not the yet-to-be launched five-door SUV.

The Jimny Heritage Edition comes with orange and red body stripes plastered around the car. Loud stickering of the “Jimny Heritage Edition” on the sides reminds you which variant you’re driving and the cherry on the cake are the red-coloured mudflaps that are vibrant. This treatment reminds us of the Land Cruisers of old, which got a very similar treatment. Apart from that, the SUV looks more or less similar to the standard model.

Once again, on the inside, things are more or less similar to the standard SUV. It gets all the features from the top-spec SUV, including a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and a multi-info display.

There are no changes underneath the hood. So, the Jimny continues with its 102PS 1.5-litre petrol engine, teamed with a four-wheel drivetrain. This special edition is offered only with the five-speed manual, but there’s also the choice of a four-speed automatic transmission option.

Closer to home, Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the Jimny five-door at Auto Expo 2023 and it is expected to be launched later this year.
