Tesla Model Y Range Now Increased To 661 km In India

The Long Range variant squeezes out an extra 39 km of range, and the best part? The price tag still chills at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tesla has quietly upgraded the Model Y, its only product in India, with a significant range boost and quietly reinforces it as an even stronger player in the premium EV market.

More Range, Bigger Battery

The Model Y Long Range now has a 661 km (WLTP) full-charge range, up from the earlier 622 km claim. While we do not have a confirmation, reports suggest that this increase is courtesy of a new 84.2 kWh battery pack, replacing the older 75 kWh pack. The upgrade adds more long-distance usability with the same Long Range RWD variant. The regular RWD variant, however, retains its 60 kWh (speculated) battery for a respectable 500 km of claimed range.

Performance and Charging

The performance numbers and design elements are not altered by Tesla, and therefore, the acceleration rates and top speed remain the same.

The Model Y continues to charge from DC fast charging, which is compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network (where available) and Other third-party charging points across India.

Price and Availability

The Model Y remains available in two trims, with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 59.89 lakh and Rs 67.89 lakh. Despite low stocks and Tesla's somewhat muted arrival in the nation, the SUV has received encouraging market reception in September, with 600+ bookings and more than 60 deliveries.
