Kia has not only teased but also confirmed that the next-generation Seltos will make its India and global debut on December 10, 2025, marking a full-model change for one of its most successful SUVs. The price announcement is expected sometime in early 2026. While Kia is keeping major details under wraps, the teasers and spy shots give us a fairly clear idea of what to expect from the new compact SUV.
The new Seltos has assumed a more upright and bold silhouette compared to the existing model. The teasers reveal a different frontal structure with a much bigger and more sculpted grille flanked by new vertical LED DRLs and a fresh headlamp layout. The bumper structure is also more squared off, contributing to a more mature SUV look.

The SUV should feature new LED taillamps at the rear that could be hooked up to a light bar, while the tailgate design should look much cleaner. New alloy wheel patterns and revised detailing along the sides round off the changes. Kia wants the next Seltos to convey a stronger on-road presence without deviating too much from the familiar Seltos persona.
While the interior has not been officially shown, spy shots reveal that the cabin is getting an all-new layout. The dashboard is a lot more modern with screens and controls laid out in a cleaner way. Higher variants are likely to continue offering a dual 12.3-inch screen setup or a triple-screen layout as seen in the Kia Syros' ‘Trinity Display'.

Expect it to feature improved cabin materials, more upmarket seat upholstery, redesigned steering controls, and revised switchgear. Ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and expanded connectivity functions appear likely to continue, albeit with availability dependent on the variant.

Kia will likely continue with existing powertrain options for the new generation Seltos. So, look forward to the tried and tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Manual, torque converter automatic, CVT, and DCT transmission options should continue, too.
Where things get interesting, however, is the new strong-hybrid powertrain that Kia is working on. Reports indicate this hybrid system could make its debut with the next Seltos internationally. Whether it comes to India will have to do with Kia's strategy in the segment, but the hybrid variant would bring a big boost in efficiency and performance if it does make it here.
Kia hasn't revealed pricing as yet. But considering the price of the ongoing model and the expected updates, the next-gen Seltos can come in at an estimated price of Rs 11.3 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) once it arrives at Indian dealerships. An India launch is expected by the first half of 2026.
If Kia manages to balance pricing with all the new additions, the next-gen Seltos could easily remain one of the segment's strongest contenders. But with rivals such as the Tata Curvv, the new Tata Sierra, the Hyundai Creta, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, the Honda Elevate, and the Volkswagen Taigun, among others, the new Seltos will need to deliver on all fronts.
Would you wait for the next-gen Seltos, or go for an existing option in the segment today? Let us know in the comments.
