Available in three broad trims: LXi, VXi, and ZXi.
CNG variants carry a Rs 95,000 premium over standard variants.
Brezza is the first in its segment to get a factory-fitted CNG kit.
The CNG kit is paired to the 1.5-litre petrol unit, producing 88PS and 122Nm.
Maruti has just expanded its CNG lineup with the launch of the Brezza CNG. The subcompact SUV becomes the first in its segment to get a factory-fitted CNG kit. However, rumours that suggested the car will be the first CNG vehicle with an automatic transmission have been put to rest; as it doesn’t. Maruti offers the CNG kit with all variants of the Brezza except for the top-spec ZXi+ trim.

Offered in the LXi, VXi, and ZXi trims, the CNG kit carries a price premium of Rs 95,000 over its concurrent petrol powered trims.
The CNG kit is paired to the Brezza’s 1.5-litre petrol engine and produces a reduced output of 88PS and 122Nm in CNG mode, which is lower than what it develops when fed with petrol, which is 101PS and 136Nm. The motor is teamed to a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front-wheels only. The CNG has the upper hand in terms of fuel efficiency with a figure of 25.51km/kg, compared to the petrol’s 20.15kmpl (MT).
Thanks to Maruti’s decision to offer the CNG kit in the higher trims of the Brezza, you won’t have to trade in comfort for efficiency. So, it gets features such as cruise control, electric sunroof, a seven-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless push button start, height adjustable driver seat, electric ORVM and more.

Even the safety features aren’t sparse as it packs ESP, hill-hold assist, dual airbags, manual IRVM, rear wiper and washer, and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages. However, it does miss out on features like six airbags, heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, and wireless phone charging.
With the addition of the Brezza CNG, Maruti has a total of 14 CNG vehicles in its lineup. Being the first in its segment to get a factory-fitted CNG kit, the Brezza CNG doesn’t have a direct rival in that sense, but the standard petrol powered sub-four-metre SUV takes the fight to the Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the Renault Kiger.
