Maruti Suzuki India has started exporting the Jimny 5-door to international markets. The SUV is manufactured exclusively in India, will now be shipped to international destinations such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. This move further contributes to the India government’s “Make In India” campaign.

Maruti Suzuki India had earlier started production of the 3-door Jimny, but that was exclusively for exports to international countries such as Latin America and Africa. The SUV joins the range of 17 models across various segments that are being exported from India.

Commenting on the exports, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD/CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, stated, “The Jimny 5-Door, manufactured in India and included in our export lineup, is expected to generate excitement among our international customers. In line with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative, our company now exports a diverse range of 17 vehicles across various segments. We are dedicated to maintaining our leadership in exporting passenger vehicles manufactured in India."
